Description

Winterthur Welcomes Researchers!

Explore, research, create! Winterthur offers unparalleled access to a wealth of library, museum, and garden collections supporting material culture research for a wide range of disciplines. For more than five decades, Winterthur fellows have produced new and innovative projects, advancing interdisciplinary scholarship and creative projects.

Fellows from fields across academia, museums, and cultural heritage use our library, museum, and garden collections to advance object-based research through short- and long-term fellowships. Our Maker-Creator Fellowship welcomes artists and creators from diverse disciplines to find inspiration in our collections to similarly shape their practices and work. Remote fellowships that expand equitable access to our resources are also available.

We enthusiastically welcome scholars and creative professionals at all stages of their careers and particularly encourage researchers from underrepresented communities including, but not limited to, Black, Indigenous, and people of color as well as scholars who bring critical perspectives to collections research.
